After this tour, have lunch and transfer to Volcanoes national park – located in the north-west of Rwanda on the border with Uganda and D.R. Congo. This is a renowned habitat for mountain gorillas as well as other unique primates like the golden monkeys.
Upon arrival, have a cold glass of cocktail juice and relax in the entire evening, waiting for dinner and night stay, or camp fire if you wish.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and cultural tour in Ibyiwachu community
Wake up to a sumptuous cup of coffee served at the park headquarters during briefing. Head out into the forest to search for these amazing primate species. You will be dedicated to a one specific family that you will track for 2 to 8 hours, and when you meet it you will be given one hour to interact with it, with the help of park rangers, learn more about their day to day life, eating habitats, movements, territories, leadership and how they interact with the entire forest ecosystem.
Gorilla trekking is truly a worthwhile adventure!
Return to the lodge for lunch and after that, you will drive outside the park to Ibyiwachu community for a cultural tour. While here, engage in Kinyarwanda dance known as igitaguriro, learn how local gin is brewed from local banana, act like a king / queen and be crowned, etc. Return to your lodge for dinner and slumber.
