4 Days Primates in Nyungwe and Butare Tour

The 4 days Nyungwe National Park Safari takes you to the montane rainforest “Nyungwe National Park” the placefamously known to be a home of beautiful Chimpanzees that share almost 98% of their DNA with humans and it is the only park where canopy walk is currently experienced in East Africa.
The safari also includes a cultural experience with the Banda community village where traditional marriage experience is exhibited and unique, tasty cultural cuisine in Rwanda.
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park and Banda Community Village
You will be warmly picked up by our tour guide from the airport and embark on the journey to Nyungwe forest National Park in southwest of Rwanda, just 228.2 kilometers 5-hour drive from Kigali International Airport.
You will reach the park in the afternoon, have lunch and relax. Proceed for an evening cultural tour in Banda village where you have a chance to explore the Rwanda traditional marriage and its tasty traditional foods. After the cultural tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Nyungwe forest national park: Chimp Trekking
After your hearty breakfast in the morning, you will assemble at Nyungwe forest park headquarters in Uwinka at 8:00am for briefing and later embark on the journey to search for chimpanzees. During the search of these primates led by a well knowledgeable and experienced ranger guide, you will come across various bird species and floral species as you hike through this montane rainforest. This activity will last for 2-6 hours depending on the location of these primates.
The one hour direct contact with these half human primates is worth remembering and getting attracted to their day to day lifestyles while being entertained by the playful young chimps. After, retreat from the activity and embark on the journey to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Nyungwe Forest Canopy Walk and Hiking
After your breakfast at the lodge, you will go for canopy walk which is the first tree top forest in East Africa and the third in the whole of Africa. This thrilling canopy walk activity which is 50 meters above the ground gives an opportunity to see birds flying above and below you, see monkeys playing on top of the trees and amazing scenic views of the huge Nyungwe Forest National Park, this is a beautiful sight and a lifetime experience.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later in the evening, you will have a nature walk through the forest to learning experience conducted by a well learned tour guide. Retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Road Transfer to Butare City to Visit the Cultural Museum and Departure from Kigali International Airport
Wakeup early in the morning, have a morning breakfast, check out of the lodge from Nyungwe National Park to Butare ethnographic museum in Butare City, also known as Huye the second largest city in Rwanda.
Explore the culture of Rwanda and the seven galleries situated in the museum, after the activity; you will have a road transfer to Kigali international airport for your departure
