Detailed itinerary of your 2 days Sipi Falls adventure
Day 1: Travel to Sipi Falls; hike to the triple waterfalls
After a leisurely breakfast, drive from Kampala along the Jinja highway through Iganga to Mbale. From Mbale, connect to Sipi Falls but your journey from Kampala will cover 5-6 hours’ drive in 4x4 land cruiser/safari van. Enjoy great views of the lush Mabira Forest enroute, tea and sugarcane plantations plus the Source of the Nile as you cross over the bridge.
Arrive early and embark on a hike to the triple Sipi Falls; these differ based on their elevation; they range from 75m, 85m to 100m. A complete trek to these waterfalls can take 3 hours less or more to explore 2 or all the water falls but it all depends on your level of physical wellness. You will enjoy amazing view of the waterfalls, surrounding areas and take photos. Later, walk back to the lodge to chill, dine and spend a night at Lacam Lodge, Sipi River Lodge or Noah’s Ark.
Day 2: Return to Kampala/Entebbe
Rise up early in the morning to enjoy your leisurely cup of tea then embark on a 2 hour-coffee tour. After, check out of the hotel/lodge then drive back to Kampala. You will have lunch break in a hotel in Jinja and in case time permits, have some exploration on the Source of the Nile then connect to Kampala/Entebbe. This brings your Sipi Falls adventure to an end.
