Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s only park in the Northwest and also the largest of all the country’s 10 national parks. Day 1: Leave Kampala/Entebbe for Murchison Falls National Park
Have your heavy breakfast at a hotel in Kampala/Entebbe and after, get a warm welcome from your safari leader. He will brief you on your 5 days Murchison Falls and Kibale safari. At 8:00am, start your journey from Entebbe/Kampala via Luweero-Gulu highway to Murchison Falls National Park.
Have an en-route visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. After the 2 hours of exploring more about rhinos, drive to Masindi Town for lunch break then access Murchison Falls National Park via Kichumbanyobo gate. From Entebbe/Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park, you will spend between 5 and 6 hours driving.
Arrive early and head to the top of the Falls to capture magnificent views of Murchison Falls and also witness it squeezing itself in a narrow gorge of 7m prior breaking down about 43m. Dinner and overnight stay will be in your preferred lodge.
Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise

Drive back to have lunch and relax a little as you wait for an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Your boat cruise experience will last for 2 to 3 hours and you will enjoy remarkable sight of basking Nile crocodiles, hippos, water birds and others. There is also a chance to capture magnificent view of Murchison Falls, take pictures. Later, get back to the lodge for your relaxed dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Travel from Murchison to Kibale Forest National Park
Have a leisurely breakfast and after, depart Murchison Falls National for Kibale National Park. But first, you will go for the last game drive to catch up with sun risers that you missed to see the previous day. Later, embark on 7 hours’ drive trip to Kibale in a full-size 4 wheel drive car. En-route, have the amazing view of landscapes, sceneries and lunch will be provided in Fort Portal city. Proceed to Kibale about 26kms from Fort Portal city. You will check in at your lodge in Kibale for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking
After your tasty cup of tea, leave the lodge for briefing on chimp trekking rules at Kanyanchu Visitor Center. You will be verified at the reception then you join other visitors for briefing and also to be allocated to park guide. Your group of 6 visitors will be accompanied by one armed park guide and you will start trekking to see chimpanzees at 8:00am.
Chimpanzee trek takes 2-4 hours and this cover 1 hour of face to face interaction with chimpanzees, taking their pictures and learning more about their behaviors. Expect to come across other primates like L’Hoest, colobus monkeys, baboons plus interesting forest birds. Expect to get back to your lodge after a magical encounter with chimpanzees.
Lunch will be served to you at your respective lodges then have a fun-filled on-foot-experience in Bigodi Swamp. This is an incredible spot to engage in a guided nature walk and it will reward you with astonishing sight of diverse species of primates, birds, mammals that you didn’t see while on chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park. Return to your lodge where you will have a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Drive back from Kibale to Entebbe/Kampala
